The Western Cape Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning has placed another order for PocketMedia® Solutions’ all-in-one, environmentally friendly solution to market the concept of Green Living during its capacity building Sustainable Living Workshops which target the youth and learners in rural communities.
The resource materials - which consist of pocket-sized Z-CARD®s, posters and envelopes – are all designed and printed by PocketMedia® Solutions, on recycled materials, and are distributed along with pencils.
“They target people aged 10 to 60 and encourage them to live sustainable lifestyles at school, work, home and in the community, through resource efficiency and green tips,” says The Western Cape Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning’s Control Environment Officer (Directorate: Sustainability), Khuthala Swanepoel.
“We are honoured to be a part of this project because the Z-CARD® is an environmentally friendly product,” says John Davis, the Managing Director of PocketMedia® Solutions. He explains that, as confirmed by independent research, when comparing a standard six-panel Z-CARD® to a three-panel A4 folded leaflet and factoring in a Z-CARD®’s 86% retention rate, the card is 94% more carbon efficient than a traditional brochure.
The Z-CARD® contains information about Green Living, covering topics such as water and energy, transport, waste, climate change and tips on how to live sustainably and grow your own vegetable garden. Information about our ecological footprint and a quick quiz to test one’s knowledge have also been included.
The front of the poster contains a summary of the information contained in the Z-CARD®, whilst the back contains a word search, crossword puzzle and a maze which teaches learners that they should recycle.
