McCain’s latest campaign targets the misconception that chips are unhealthy. Traditionally, chips have been thought of as an indulgence or treat but with McCain Original Oven Chips, which contain only 3% fat, consumers can now enjoy a serving of chips as part of a balanced eating plan more often.

McCain Original Oven Chips are locally produced and made from real farm fresh potatoes. Additionally oven-baked chips offer a healthier alternative to many other potato dishes.

Nutritionally speaking, potatoes are an excellent source of potassium and fibre, and are considered a healthy carbohydrate to include as part of a balanced diet. Chips, however, have achieved their bad reputation and association with ‘junk food’ mainly because of the way they are prepared.

“We wanted to communicate to our consumers that chips don’t have to be unhealthy. McCain Original Oven Chips have only 3%, so you don’t have to deprive yourself of this tasty dish and can still give your family a balanced diet. ,” commented Greg Foster, marketing manager of McCain Foods S.A.

McCain Rustic Oven Chips with Skins On also form a part of this range. Lightly brushed with natural sunflower oil, they are high in taste and with their skins still on, offer all the goodness of just picked potatoes.

McCain’s full range is available at all leading supermarkets.
