Food Sciences Degree

Our client is a leading manufacturer of essential and value added foods in South Africa. They pride themselves on being a supplier of exceptional quality, nutritious and safe foodstuffs that are trusted by millions of consumers daily. This position is based in Paarl, Western Cape.

Key outputs: ▪ Standardisation, fault finding/specialist support (Recipe, ingredients, process parameters (yields) ▪ Designed & maintained production processes and specifications (Recipe, ingredients, process parameters (yields) ▪ Conducted new technology feasibility studies and managed technology innovation ▪ Implemented food safety, hygiene & quality assurance; developed and implemented technical training ▪ Managed team and assisted resolution of customer complaints

You will need a Food Science Degree (BSc Food Science; BSc (Agric) Food Science and Technology) whilst a post graduate degree is preferred.

6-8 Years’ relevant experience should include the following: ▪ Knowledge of production technology and processes (eg. bakery / food processing / milling or similar) ▪ Experience of research methodology and feasibility studies ▪ Experience in dealing with food safety systems, hygiene and quality management systems ▪ Experience in delivering training for bakery production staff ▪ Experience in implementing a training plan and what the main elements of such a plan will be ▪ Experience in the management of people ▪ Project management experience ▪ Relevant SAP experience ▪ Willing and able to travel throughout South Africa.
