National security has been notified: The Stimorol Infinity Intelligence Division has confirmed that something unworldly has landed on shelves nationwide. After close analysis it has been confirmed to be Stimorol Alien Abduction flavoured gum.
As intelligence indicates, the incident appears to have been a direct result of the Stimorol 2012 Mega Mystery ‘You Decide the Flavour’ campaign. In these prior events, Stimorol asked normal civilians to submit their own flavour suggestions for the mystery gum and vote through a specially created ‘youdecidetheflavour’ digital site (youdecidetheflavour.com).
Stimorol’s headquarters can now confirm that they received over 295 000 wild and quirky flavour submissions including Laserbeams, Photobomb and Multitasking. A few of these bizarre entrants were rewarded with their own personalised gum pack or a video themed according to their suggestion, but the large majority of the entrants were just happy to play their part in naming this popular Mystery flavour.
The 2012 Stimorol Mega Mystery campaign was led by a strong digital campaign, and was supported by extensive above-the-line activities including: street pole adverts; 50-second TV ad; 25 radio stings; online banners, MXIT site, as well as below-the-line elements including in-store sampling, activation and PR activities. The limited edition Stimorol Alien Abduction flavour launch will also be strongly supported.
Stimorol agent Nabila Khan (Brand Manager of Stimorol) has released an official statement on the arrival of the extra-terrestrial gum: “Stimorol is thrilled to announce the launch of the collector’s edition Stimorol Alien Abduction pack as voted for by our consumers in 2012,” she says. “Armed with Stimorol’s trademark quirkiness, the courageous social media campaign gained a great response from South Africa, and we are excited to reward consumers by upholding our promise” says Khan.
Over 500 000 limited edition Stimorol Alien Abduction packs will go on sale at all major retailers nationwide for selling price (RSP) of R13.99.Click here for more information on Stimorol
