After the successful implementation of the PUMA Creative Factory ‘Love Thy Planet’ campaign that was recently rolled out in Johannesburg, PUMA are showcasing this collaboration and the work of their chosen ambassadors in a 7-day exhibition taking place at Coast Studio in Newton, Johannesburg, from this Thursday 18 April to Wednesday 24 April.

PUMA collaborated with 10 brand ambassadors from Cape Town and Johannesburg including Dylan Muhlenberg of Men’s Health, Kelly Fung of Marie Claire, DJ Kenzhero, PhotoGanic creator Victoria Romburg and bloggers Misha Coetzee, Ndu Donsa and Andile Mbete, who printed their designs on fair-trade, African-made tees and bags from Rukinga in Kenya. The designs used in the printing process were created by the ambassadors using old-fashioned pinhole cameras to answer the questions: ‘What do you love about your planet?’ and ‘What would you want to preserve?’

A consumer event was then held where Jozi fashionistas harnessed the power of the sun to print the ambassador’s unique designs on bags and t-shirts using the revolutionary Lumitype process developed by Lumi - makers of sunlight-activated Inkodye. As part of PUMA’s sustainability mission, members of the public were able to create raw, instant fashion.

In order to continue the momentum generated by the consumer event, PUMA are hosting the PUMA Creative Factory Exhibition that will highlight the collaboration between the sportlifestyle brand and the chosen ambassadors, showcasing the work that they produced for the campaign. This will include their photographs, tees and profiles; as well as the actual materials used in the process. Video footage showing the history of the campaign, ambassador video clips and interviews with the ambassadors will also be screened during the exhibition.

The opening night, which starts at 7pm and runs until late, will feature live music from DJ Kenzhero, Romz Deluxe and Milkbar Kid and is open to the public. The Johannesburg ambassadors will also be there to chat about their experience and the creative inspiration behind their designs.

All Jozi hipsters, influencers and PUMA fans; be sure not to miss this one! The PUMA Creative Factory Exhibition will take place at Coast Studio, No 50 Gwigwi Mrwebi Street, Newtown, Johannesburg, with gallery hours operating from 10am to 5pm all other days apart from the opening night.
