Representing consumer brands online

It's no secret that the internet has revolutionised our lives, from the way we socialise to the way we do business. Communication is faster, responses are immediate and events are recorded in real-time.
We've reached the point where consumer brands are compelled to establish and maintain an online presence, not only for consumers, but also for the retail industry as a whole.

Brands essentially have to re-invent themselves online, while maintaining good relationships with stakeholders and meeting the obligations set out by policy makers at the same time.

”New labelling legislation and the Consumer Protection Act requires retailers to ensure access to product information, but providing this information can be a problem,” explains Craig Ballantyne, Managing Director of Fastmoving provides a central repository for brands to store product information electronically.

Fastmoving offers a convenient way for brands to way for consumer brands to showcase essential information about each SKU in a product range, through our hosted brand inventories.

Available on-demand, these inventories can store high-res pack shots (free for download) and catalogue barcodes, product endorsements, nutritional values, ingredients and allergens for each SKU in a central repository.

Ballantyne says that "Consumer brand owners need a central repository from which they can manage and store all their digital brand information. This ensures control over the content used to represent the brand in electronic and printed media. The process is efficient because retailers and agencies draw from one centrally managed set of data,”

“With our system the retailer can simply plug-in-and-play” adds Ballantyne.

Because marketing exposure is also essential to the life of a brand, fastmoving offers brands, opting for its central repository service, regular media exposure on its portal and electronic newsletters, which are directed at the retail trade.

“As digital marketing and communication become an integral part of retailing, so access to this information becomes essential," concludes Ballantyne.
